Cairo, a bustling metropolis, seamlessly blends the remnants of the oldest civilization with modern cultural achievements. As the center of Egyptian art, it is adorned with over a thousand minarets and boasts museums teeming with ancient artifacts. This city, the largest on the African continent, straddles the Nile, one of the world’s longest rivers, and captivates visitors with its diverse and fascinating architecture.
One of Cairo’s highlights is the Egyptian Museum, situated at the famous Tahrir Square. The museum’s vast collection includes treasures from Tutankhamun’s tomb, mummies of pharaohs, and artifacts spanning over 5,000 years. Visitors can explore more than 160,000 masterpieces displayed across two floors, including a magnificent collection of gold artifacts and jewelry from the New Kingdom tomb, discovered in 1922.
No visit to Cairo is complete without witnessing one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Stand in awe before the mighty pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, and finally, behold the Great Sphinx. This mythical creature, typically depicted as a lion with a human head, dates back to the Egyptian Old Kingdom. Some theories suggest the Sphinx resembles Khufu, the builder of the Great Pyramid, while others believe it was constructed by Pharaoh Jedefre, Khafre’s older half-brother, to honor their father.
Every year, millions of tourists flock to Cairo and Giza to marvel at these extraordinary landmarks. Your trip promises an unforgettable experience, allowing you to witness firsthand the grandeur and mystery of ancient Egypt.
